Joshua's dream come true!

Joshua was very intrigued with the activity coming off of the naval airbase. Here are some of the objects of his affection!

Shelter Island, San Diego

These are some pics right across from our hotel room. Josh was so excited to see the naval air base across the water that I couldn't get him to face the camera. He was watching several helicopters and a water hover craft taking off and landing. Shayna on the other hand was just happy to be vertical and stay that way!

Josh fell off the bed and got a little stuck. Okay, well maybe he got pushed off. In my defense, he was being extremely annoying. :-)

Tour of the San Diego Bay

Today we took a cruise around the San Diego Bay Harbour. We were going to head out to Sea World but Shayna's knee and ankle have been bothering her and for some reason, was much worse today. So instead we chose to do something that didn't require too much walking. The boat ride was fun. We all got a bit sunburn; some more than others. :-)

Oooooohhhhh Jesse!

Here we are on the second day of our trip. Last night we went to the Jordan Sparks (winner of last American Idol) and Jesse McCartney (teen heart throb) concert. There were a whole bunch of teenage girls screaming, dancing, and waving their hands around when Jesse came on. And yes, my daughter was one of them.

On the road again...

We originally had plans to go to a Jesse McCartney and Jordan Sparks concert on August 5th in Sacramento but an important event came up that took precedence so we changed our plans. Today, as I type this, I am sitting on the second floor of our hotel room in San Diego, overlooking the 1300 seat concert area where good ole Jess and Jordan will be strutting their stuff. Of course, it wasn't until a few moments ago that I learned UB40 will be playing tomorrow night and we don't have tickets! How did that happen? How did I miss this opportunity? I think I am going to start pulling my head out of my parental role and start making them tag along to MY events. Okay people...hear this...my next trip is to VEGAS!!! I don't know when...but that's where our next vacation will be; Vegas and the Blue Man Group.

I'm sure you're sitting on the edge of your seats awaiting an update after the concert so I will be sure to post with all the juicy tidbits...such as how many little teenagers cried their eyes out while dreaming of marrying Jesse!

Ahhhhhhhh...aren't they cute?!!! Wow, kids grow up fast. One day they are pushing each other around in walkers and the next day they are taking their driving test. Yikes!

In Memory of Aunti Ethel...

May everyone live as full of a life as she did, with as much energy and chutzpah! She was 96 when she passed away peacefully in her sleep. G-d Bless you auntie!

The Crayon Races

So the kids and I took my great-neices (Paige & Cassidy) out to lunch at Elephant Bar. Cassidy was trying to make the crayons race each other across the table and Paige was just cracking up having a good ole time until she realized she was being filmed...Uh oh! She's no fool, when I told her that I was only filming Cassidy, she didn't quite believe me....gee, I wonder why?! :-)
